The music for this song in particular was written almost 8 years prior to finalizing it. For me, it was difficult to find a story that would fit the overall mood of the song. However, as many songs draw on raw emotions, there was a short period of time were I lost a lot of close friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances to various diseases. It was in this moment that I decided to re-look at this song and write about the strength it takes to fight such challenges head on, knowing that for many, it was a losing battle.
